About Tutor

Teaching has been my passion since I was a small child. From age 5, I have memories of “playing school” with siblings, as I pointed to flashcards with ink-stained fingers and newly sharpened crayons. As an adult, my passion for teaching infiltrated my academic studies, resulting in a double major for the Master’s program, in which I earned a Master of Health Administration and Education. During my free time, I look forward to cooking culturally inspired meals, watching black and white films, hiking with friends, and reading historical fiction.

Teaching Approach

For over a decade, I have taught Preschool through 9th grade using a multitude of techniques tailored to each child’s learning style and preference. I believe everyone has the ability to learn difficult concepts, and it is the teacher’s duty to utilize teaching and learning strategies to encourage a natural flow of informational processing. Often, I utilize auditory, visual, and kinesthetic/tactile methods when teaching new concepts. Diversified teaching strategies aid in student learning, memory, and comprehension; and students should be given an opportunity to explore learning in a manner that aligns with their natural propensity.
