After 17 years in the corporate world, working in Marketing, Communications, Insurance, and Technology sectors for C-level executives, I decided to pursue my Master's in Teaching and become a secondary English teacher. I have been a middle school teacher for the past 2 years and love the ability to be creative and also to build relationships with my students.
Additionally, I have spent the past 25 years as a professional actress in Indianapolis Community theater and bring those skillsets into my classroom and instruction practices.
Finally, I am an avid gardener, a single mom to a 17 year old, and LOVE to travel! I recently got back from Barcelona in late March and had a BLAST!

I strive to understand my student's goals first. My role is merely the coach to get my student's where they want to be. If their goal is to become a better writer, then we focus on that. If the goal is to understand the nuances of the English language in casual conversation, we focus on that. Perhaps my student might want to practice a general American accent and focus on lip/tongue placement in forming words....regardless of the student goals, I work with each student individually to craft a plan that achieves their set outcomes.
