About

Hi! My name is Karen. I am from San Francisco, California. I love teaching English to people from all over the world. I am organized, patient, kind and make lessons fun. My students are my first priority and I always make sure to put a lot of effort and care into each student and lesson. When I'm not teaching, I love to travel, spend time outdoors, cook, read, craft and dance.

    Experience

I have experience teaching English all over the world! I have lived and taught in 4 countries and taught students in countless other countries online. I have a degree in education, a credential to teach English and a TESOL certificate. I have spent more than 3 years writing curriculum both for my own classes as well as other teachers and whole institutions. I absolutely love teaching!

Teaching Approach

I believe in learning language within a context. We use language to communicate thoughts and ideas so why should the learning process leave that out? In my classes, we don't ignore grammar and vocabulary studies but we use those skills to hold interesting conversations about topics that make you feel engaged and curious. Learning should involve deep thinking and lots of practice but also lots of laughs and a feeling of accomplishment.
