Experience
I have taught English for 6 years in group classes and also one-on-one classes including TOEFL preparation and TOEIC.
Teaching Approach
There are areas where students are strong and others where students can be weak. I focus on 5 different areas with students.
1. Comprehension: Does the student understand what I say or do I have to repeat questions and instructions constantly?
2. Fluency: Does the student speak at a moderate pace?
3. Pronunciation: Does the student pronounce words like a native?
4. Vocabulary: Does the student use synonyms and different words?
5. Grammar: Does the student have a good sentence structure?
It is helpful to differentiate between these different areas so that students can focus on their strengths as well as their weaknesses.
