I use a broadly communicative approach with older children and adults, with dialogues in every day situations and conversations on a multitude of topics . I also teach the grammatical rules of the language but with activities and games to follow which emphasise the function of the grammatical item. I have a wide range of games at my disposal which make the language lessons fun and efficient. I often use ESL sites on the internet to find new games, activities and songs. I use the target language from beginning to end of my lessons and always vary my techniques to suit the need of my students. My main aim is that my students should be using the language they are learning for communicative purposes.
I teach the four core language skills in all my lessons;listening speaking, reading and writing using a variety of approaches. I also review language learnt on a regular basis. My students are given regular updates on their progress.
I develop a good rapport with my students and aim from the very beginning to build self confidence in their language
