My name is Kurt Christie. I've been happily married for 11 years. I was raised in West Haven, CT but I have lived in New York City, Charlotte, NC, and Bangkok, Thailand. Needless to say, I enjoy travel and love learning about and speaking to people of different nationalities and cultures. I'm a native English speaker, but I am also fluent in American Sign Language and speak basic conversational Thai. I love sports, music, and talking about current events.

I have been an English teacher for several years working for companies focused on helping students in China and Japan learn and perfect their English skills.I have experience working 1:1 as well as successfully teaching and managing a group class. I'm experienced at teaching students at the basic, intermediate, and advanced levels. I have been involved in online teaching and worked in the US Public School and community college system for 7 years.
Teaching Approach
I try to make all my classes interesting, informative, and practical. I try to gauge what approach will work the best for each student. In my experience if a student understands how a lesson can apply to his everyday life he will be even more engaged during the lesson and satisfied by the end of the session. Thus, I try to be as adaptable as possible.
