Subjects

French

Intensive French

When I was working for AECD (French association for education and cognitive development) I gave intensive French lessons to political refugees who needed to help them to integrate French society. I also gave intensive French lessons to prepare people wanting to spend their holidays in France.

French for beginners

I give lesson to several Czech and Chinese teenagers who want to have a school exchange (high-school level) in France but had never learned French. I help them to have an A2-B1 level in a few months.

Conversational French

French for traveling

I give a lot of conversational lesson, both individual and group lessons, including on Skype.

Working with French people

When I was workin for the Alliance Française of South Bohemia, I have given intensive French lessons to prepare people wanting to spend their holidays in France. It is still a subject that keeps coming back both in regular and in conversation lessons.

Having French friends

I have given lessons to political refugees to help them to integrate French society, which included helping them to find a job and to work with French people in their fields of work.

Reading and writing French

I consider as the basis of my job to help people to understand French customs and personalities, and to help them to get to know French people. A lot of young people want to know how to befriend French people.

Understanding French movies

I have a MA in French literature, so I include French literature in courses when people show an interest in it, mainly in conversational courses. But I also often include reading and writing exercises in my regular lessons.

French lifestyle and culture

In my conversational lessons, I sometimes encourage people to tell the stories of the French movies they have watched, as it is a great exercise to acquire new vocabulary and to get out of their comfort zone.

Marrying a native French

When I was working for the Alliance Française of South Bohemia and for a Czech high-school, I gave a lot of of lessons about French lifestyle and culture, both in conversational and in regular lessons.

About

Hello! My name is Stefan and I'm a native French speaker from Provence. I work as a teacher of French as a foreign language in the Czech Republic and online, and as a proofreader and translator English to French, French to English, Czech to French. I really love what I'm doing for living, sharing my working time between these activities is a real pleasure for me.

I like reading, writing, practicing martial arts (fencing, aikido and iaido), practicing self-development (meditation and mindfulness), playing board and tabletop games, and I am fond of psychology and deep psychology.

I would be very happy if you are interested in taking lessons with me. I look forward in meeting you!

    Experience

I first worked in France as a French teacher for newcomers in France, which was a wonderful experience and allowed me to help people with various backgrounds and origins to become integrated in French society.

Then I moved to the Czech Republic where I have worked as a teacher of French, examiner, proofreader and translator for the Alliance Française of South Bohemia and in a Czech secondary school. I have been teaching French for foreigners for more than 7 years, and I love it.

Teaching Approach

I always adapt to your needs! I can prepare my classes with a lot of materials and topics for conversations, so I will always get them designed with your goals and what you want to study in my mind.

Most of the time, though, my lessons emphasize on conversation, pronunciation and culture, three points that are essentials to understand French people and to be understood by them.

Of course we will mostly speak French during the lessons, but don't worry! I am a very patient teacher, watchful yet kind and indulgent. I always take the time to secure what we learn together. One step at a time, that's how you learn to run! I will help you focus on what you have to improve, in a calm and gentle atmosphere. Moreover, from time to time I can give you some complex translations, explain difficult grammar, or draw parallels in other languages.
