Children need to have a very active and engaging lesson. At their ages their attention span is going to shift considerable so it is best to incorporate activities that capture them and get them to engage in the lesson. The youngest I have taught was age 7
Business English
Conversational English
This requires a more direct approach. In the past I would assess the industry that the corporate class belongs to, for example, Engineers for oil tankers. And apply content that is going to be beneficial and familiar to the students.
Working with English people
Conversational English requires more familiarity with various applications of grammar. Descriptive speaking for example would require lessons on Adverbs of frequency or knowing prepositions of movement
I left my small town in South Africa several years ago and discovered the wide open world. As well as finding my passion for teaching while living in South East Asia for 6 years. I have a fondness for fly fishing, camping, hiking and basically anything that involves the outdoors. Before I went to Asia I worked for 2 years in the UK and toured parts of Europe.
I also Love online gaming and reading.

Teaching English becomes much easier when you develop a common interest with the student. Learning new languages can be difficult and in order to keep the attention and build excitement it is important to engage the student with the goal of approaching their hobbies, interests or passions and work that into your lesson. Using General knowledge and encouraging the student to use what they have learned to speak or describe their situation, or interest is an excellent way to develop their communication skills, grammar and boost confidence.
