I have been an English language teacher for more than 20 years. I have taught English in both private and public schools at different educational levels. I currently work at the School of Foreign Languages at the University of Colima, teaching several subjects, and conducting different studies. My main interests are Language Awareness, Action Research, and Curriculum Design. I hold an MA in ELT by the University of Exeter, and a PhD by the University of Southampton.
I know in theory and in practice different language teaching approaches. I believe that every teaching approach has something to contrinbte to the process. If I had to choose one, I would tend to employ approaches which help students develop their linguistic skills through a thinking process. Approaches based on authentic tasks, on the solution of problems, approaches which foster students' autonomous learning.
