I am a native English speakers from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. I have two children--Isabel, age 10 and Max, age 8. I am married with a poodle mix dog. I love to read fiction, travel around the country and world, and ski.

Experience
I have been teaching English as Second Language for over 20 years in the United States to students in grades K-12. I have my Master's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language and English 7-12 and Reading Specialist certificates.
Teaching Approach
I like to embed the learning of English in the other content areas such as Science, Social Studies, and Math. Too often, ESL can become all about grammar, but I believe the grammar should be used in context and not taught exclusively. English includes four domains: listening, speaking, reading, and writing, so students need practice with all of these to become fluent.
