English lessons for children

I taught elementary school students for 6 years in public schools. I also taught middle and high school students through various special programs. I spent four years in private academies teaching children of all ages. At my last job, I taught kindergarten, as well. I planned out all of their lessons, made the materials and taught them. We did English as a main subject and then other subjects in English (math, science, about the world, art, music, PE). I've taught from beginner to advanced and class sizes from 1 to 40.

Intensive English

I assume this means a complete English course, focused on the four skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking (and grammar and vocabulary). I've taught thousands of students in this way.

English for beginners

I've taught students starting at the alphabet, moving to phonics, to sight words, to basic grammar, all way to entering a national speech contest.

Business English

I've taught many professionals how to use English in business and have helped several pass English tests and get promoted. The city I stayed in, Pohang, has lots of industry specialists because of the Posco steel factory. They need to work with English people, so the demand was high.

Conversational English

I taught Korean teachers how to speak for six years in public schools. Many private lessons with adults were focused on conversation skills.

English for traveling

I taught Maxwell, a retired man who wanted to travel, how to do it in English. I also taught Karin, a 14 year old student, how to have conversation and travel. She went to Paris with her family and translated English into Korean for the people in her group!

Working with English people

I have experience working with English people. I worked as a software engineer for three years in an English environment. I worked in banking software and dealt with international clients. I have helped students better understand culture and how to interact at work.

Having English friends

Many private lesson students want meet English friends. Many lessons were in preparation of meeting people. My students and I would often meet with my friends for dinner, to practice their skills and meet new people.

Reading and writing English

I love writing and reading. I write in my free time. Most classes I taught involved reading and writing. I can do advanced work, at a technical or Phd level, and I can take someone from pure beginner and help them. I can proofread, edit and show you how to write. I can show you the pattern behind English sentences and how to read correctly with understanding.

Understanding English movies

I'm a movie expert. I love film. I've used television and movies to teach private lessons. Movies are usually advanced classes for experienced students.

English lifestyle and culture

This is my culture. It is a part of all lessons. You have to learn culture to learn language.

Marrying a native English

I have not been married. I have had two relationships with women who did not speak English as their first language. That's all the experience I have in this area.

About Tutor

I have been teaching English for 10 years. Before I was a teacher, I worked as a software engineer in banking software for 3 years.
I stopped engineering, because I wanted to work with people.
I love teaching.
