Korean for beginners
I can speak very basic survival Korean and am able to read the alphabet. I am not fluent in the language.
I am a 24 native English speaker from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2015 with a Bachelor's degree in Speech and Hearing Science and a minor in Linguistics. My hobbies are traveling, exercising, watching movies and TV shows, listening to music, and eating good food.
After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh in 2015, I completed a 100-hour TESOL/TESL/TEFL course. Upon completing the course, I left to teach English in South Korea for one year. I taught children ages 5-12 at a private institution where the primary focus was conversational English. I taught a variety of subjects including conversation, storybook, science, math, and weekly expression. I focused on strengthening students' speaking, listening, reading, and writing across all subjects while maintaining a fun classroom environment.
Rather than focusing on memorization or textbook learning, I cultivate realistic scenarios that require students to use English to successfully complete a task. I provide incentive to effectively communicate in English through games, activities, and discussion of hobbies or topics that are relevant to my students.
