My name is Sela Kioa and I am native Tonga, born and raised and currently residing in Tonga. I have been a teacher for most of my life and this passion grew in me because my father was a teacher in his profession in which he earned money to provide for his family. However, my mother was the teacher in the home, and I was very lucky to be taught by her in all aspects of life although she didn't receive higher education after high school. Therefore, I was surrounded by teaches and I grew to love teaching. Although I had left my teaching profession, but I still find opportunities to teach. While teaching, I pursued by Masters degree in Education while working full time. I felt inadequate and wanted to equip myself so that I can better help my students. It was only my second year into teaching that I decided to further my education. I am very outgoing and love to socialize with people especially with our youth and young ones.

My teaching approach is very simple and that is student focused. I always like to prepare ahead of time so that I would know how to cater for my students' needs. I observe each of my students very carefully in class so that I can see how to best fit their needs. Often, I would do a one-on-one with each student just so they can express themselves and see what I can do better as a teacher. So, you can see, my teaching approach is all about the student. It is never about me.
