About Tutor

Writing has always been a passion of mine. I have a personal blog on which I write short stories. I have achieved a modicum of success with my blog.

I have a bachelor's degree in commerce with a focus on Information Systems. I am currently busy with my Master's program. I am doing this through Liverpool University. I will also be pursuing various certifications in the Education field through Cambridge University.

I started my journey in the Education field in 2006 as a tutor. I helped teach Academic Literacy for Commerce to freshmen. The course is a preparation and support course for freshmen. It particularly focuses on writing for academic purposes as well as business English, furthermore it is used as means to bridge the language gap for those students who were not educated in English during their primary and secondary education years. I progressed to the position of Assistant Lecturer in this course before I left for Korea, where I started my ESL career.

Other than my blog I have worked as an editor for an online magazine. I helped found, edit and write for the magazine. This was in the period between 2006 and 2011. It is an urban lifestyle magazine focusing on Cape Town. It has since grown to also include other cities. During my tenure at the magazine, I edited and wrote articles with subjects ranging from sport, sex, cars, financial management, political opinion pieces, business and events proposals.

I have also worked for an NGO as a fundraiser as well as a writer for the organization's online presence. We used crowd funding as the main source of fundraising. I was in charge of writing proposals, letters, and other business materials.

I am currently a Senior Teacher with the organization I work for. Deadlines and pedantic excellence are of paramount importance in my current position. As my work has far-reaching consequences on other people,s work.

Should you hire me, you will be hiring someone well versed in a range of topics, able to work within deadlines and take criticism and with impeccable grammar and spelling. Furthermore, I have an excellent work ethic. I may be new to freelance work but it is not too far out of my wheelhouse as I have worked and experienced different aspects of it.

I hope to hear from you soon

I have been teaching for 11 years. I started off as a tutor in a university course called Academic Literacy for Commerce this was over a period of 2 years. I was then promoted to professional tutor. I was a professional tutor for a year. I then taught English in Korea for two years. I then became an Assistant Lecturer for a year. I then went back to Korea for three years as an English Teacher. I am now currently in China as a Senior English Teacher with English First.

Teaching Approach

I believe in a student centred approach. I would like to do 1-on-1 classes, which I can tailor to the needs of those specific students.
